Dan Berg

With over a decade in the comedy industry, Dan Berg has developed a deep understanding of how to connect with audiences. He uses humour not purely to solicit laughs but as a way to disarm and engage. By slipping ideas past intellectual defences, he creates a space where messages are absorbed without feeling forced. The result is playful and thought-provoking without being preachy, and resonant without demanding to be taken seriously.

Surrealism is another key force in his practice. Just as comedy relies on the element of surprise, Berg’s work thrives on the power of juxtaposition - carefully crafted visual punchlines manifest in works unconfined to traditional art spaces.

His background in creating internet virals and guerrilla campaigns has been shaped by an insatiable need for stimulation and a notoriously short attention span. This restless energy has sharpened his ability to craft projects that hook audiences instantly, whether through bewilderment, stark imagery, or offbeat ingenuity.

Much of Berg’s work is rooted in themes drawn from contemporary life. He explores shifting attitudes towards mental health, masculinity and societal norms - often through a lens of absurdity and play. His work champions silliness not as an escape, but as an essential tool for connection, reflection and rethinking the status quo.

His practice continues to develop, with each project building on the last - expanding his ideas and refining his approach. Through humour, surrealism and a sharp awareness of today’s world, his work remains fresh, immediate and deeply engaging.
