PLEB Talks
Event series across the UK
2010-2014

Description

PLEB Talks is the world’s first comedy think tank - a platform for comedians to dispense gloriously reckless wisdom on life’s mightiest topics.

Unlike TED Talks’ groundbreaking usefulness, PLEB Talks thrive on chaos, comedy and intellectual worthlessness. Hosted by Nish Kumar, these covert events unfolded in unexpected UK venues - school halls, auction rooms, churches - transforming spaces into playgrounds of irreverence.

Featuring acclaimed comedians like Mae Martin, John Kearns, Sara Pascoe, Rich Fulcher, Simon Munnery, Lou Sanders and Ian Smith, the series gave absurd, offbeat ideas the serious platform they never deserved. Co-created with Ben Target and awarded Ideas Tap funding, PLEB Talks reimagined intellectual discourse as a surreal, laughter-fuelled experiment in anti-wisdom.
